Pavers, travertine, and natural stone selected for looks, durability, and cool-to-the-touch comfort.
The deck is where you actually live around the pool. WETYR Pools installs paver, travertine, and custom decking that is beautiful, cool underfoot, and built to last.
A pool is only as good as the deck around it. We install premium pavers, travertine, and modern decking surfaces chosen for slip resistance, heat comfort, and drainage. Decking ties the pool to the home and landscape, and we design it as part of the whole project, not an afterthought.
WETYR Pools handles pavers & decking as a craftsman-led, design-build team. The people who plan your project are the people who build it and stand behind it, with no quality lost in the handoffs between separate companies. One team, one standard, and one point of accountability from the first conversation through long-term care.
It is easy to think of the pool as the project and the deck as the trim around it. In day-to-day life, the opposite is closer to the truth. You swim in the pool, but you live on the deck. It is where the loungers go, where the table goes, where people stand and talk, where children run, and where the barefoot journey from the back door to the water actually happens. The deck is the largest usable surface of the whole project, and it is the one your feet are in contact with all summer long.
A deck that was treated as an afterthought shows it immediately. It is too hot to cross at midday. It pools water in the wrong places. It is slippery where it should grip. It cracks, settles, and stains, and it makes even a beautiful pool feel cheap. A deck that was genuinely designed does the opposite: it stays comfortable underfoot, it drains correctly, it grips when wet, and it ties the pool, the home, and the landscape together into one coherent space.
WETYR Pools designs the deck as an integral part of the project, not a line item added at the end. The material, the layout, the drainage, the borders, and the transitions to the house and garden are all resolved together with the pool, because the deck is where the project succeeds or fails as a place to spend time.
Pavers, travertine, and natural stone selected for looks, durability, and cool-to-the-touch comfort.
Decks are graded and drained correctly so water moves away from the pool and home.
Surfaces chosen and finished for safe footing around water.
We also re-level, re-sand, seal, and replace tired existing pool decks.
There is no single best pool deck material, only the right material for a given home, climate, and budget. These are the surfaces we install most, and what each one does well.
Interlocking pavers are the workhorse of a great pool deck. They resist cracking because the joints absorb movement, individual pavers can be lifted and replaced if one is ever damaged, and the right colors stay comfortably cool underfoot. They come in a vast range of styles, from classic to sharply modern.
Natural travertine is a premium stone that stays remarkably cool in direct sun and develops a soft, refined patina with age. Its porous surface gives natural slip resistance, and few materials make a pool look more expensive or more timeless.
Large-format natural stone and modern porcelain pavers suit contemporary homes, with clean lines and minimal joints. Porcelain in particular is extremely hard-wearing, fade-resistant, and low maintenance.
Where a monolithic look is wanted, decorative and finished concrete can deliver it, and it remains a cost-effective option. We finish it for slip resistance and detail it so it does not read as a plain slab.
The beauty of a deck is what gets photographed, but three unglamorous details decide whether it is actually good to live on: drainage, heat, and footing. Get them right and nobody thinks about the deck at all, which is exactly the point. Get them wrong and the deck is a daily irritation.
Drainage comes first. A pool deck must be graded so water, rain, splash-out, and the inevitable overflow of a storm, moves away from the pool and, critically, away from the house. A deck that drains toward the home is not a cosmetic flaw, it is a real problem. We design the grade, and where needed the drains and channels, so water always goes where it should.
Heat and footing come next. In strong sun, the wrong surface in the wrong color becomes genuinely too hot to walk on barefoot, so we steer material and color choices toward surfaces that stay comfortable. And because a pool deck is wet by definition, every surface we install is chosen and finished for slip resistance, so the deck grips underfoot exactly where safe footing matters most.
A tired deck can drag down an otherwise good pool, and replacing or renovating it is one of the highest-impact upgrades available. WETYR Pools re-decks existing pools: we remove old, cracked, or dated surfaces and install new pavers, travertine, or stone, instantly transforming the look and feel of the whole pool area. Often a re-deck pairs naturally with a pool resurface, so the pool and its surroundings are renewed together.
Not every deck needs full replacement. Paver decks in particular can be re-leveled where they have settled, re-sanded in the joints, and sealed to look fresh again. Sealing is worth understanding: it protects the surface against staining and fading and keeps the color rich, and it is worth refreshing periodically. We seal both new and existing decks and can advise on the right schedule for your material.
Whether the project is a new deck designed with a new pool, a full re-deck of an existing pool, or repair and sealing of what you have, it begins with a clear, fixed, itemized proposal. The deck is where you will spend your time, and it deserves the same standard of work as the pool itself.
Clear answers to the questions homeowners ask most.
Pavers resist cracking because their joints absorb movement, the right colors stay cooler underfoot, and an individual paver can be lifted and replaced if damaged. Decorative concrete remains a cost-effective option, and we help you weigh both for your project.
Yes. We re-deck existing pools, removing old, cracked, or dated surfaces and installing new pavers, travertine, or stone. A re-deck often pairs naturally with a pool resurface so the pool and its surroundings are renewed together.
Sealing protects the surface against staining and fading and keeps the color rich, and it is worth refreshing periodically. We seal both new and existing decks and can advise on the right schedule for your specific material.
Travertine is well known for staying cool in direct sun, and lighter-colored pavers and porcelain also perform well. Heat comfort is a major factor in our material recommendations, because a deck that is too hot to cross is a deck you will not use.
A pool deck must be graded so water moves away from the pool and especially away from the house. A deck that drains toward the home can cause real damage. We design the grade and any needed drains so water always goes where it should.
Often yes. Paver decks can be re-leveled where they have settled, re-sanded in the joints, and resealed to look fresh again. We assess the deck and recommend repair or replacement honestly based on its condition.
